  SKM – Svensk KraftmäklingElectricity certificates are a market-based support system for increasing the proportion of renewable electricity. The Government determines the desired volume of renewable electricity production (17 TWh by 2016) and the market takes care of the pricing of the electricity certificates. Pricing occurs primarily through traditional brokerage between the various players on the market, and price information is published continually on SKM’s website and via Montel. Factors that affect the price include fundamental aspects such as quota obligation, electricity usage, accumulated surplus and deficit, as well as the various market players’ need to secure risk and their expectations regarding future electricity certificate prices. Our customers are electricity suppliers with quota obligations (purchasers), producers (sellers) and players conducting financial trading with electricity certificates.
