If an energy efficiency measure reduces the amount of energy required to deliver or to produce the same amount of electricity, goods or services, it can generate carbon credits.

Energy efficiency projects that can apply for carbon finance:

• Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) application in process industry or electricity generation facility that reduce the amount of fossil fuel consumed
• Optimization applications implemented to improve the efficiency of a process
• District Heating/Cooling system installation that substitutes decentralized heating and cooling facilities with centralized heaters or chillers to reduce the need for energy
• Improvements in energy distribution through optimization of applications such as transmission lines, transformers and other technology
• Energy efficiency applications in buildings
