By creating a market for agricultural waste, such as cotton or rice husks that would otherwise be left to rot or burnt on the fields, this project also creates an additional source of income for the local landless laborers. In addition, the project has made significant voluntary contributions to the local community, including funding educational and health initiatives. The project is certified Gold Standard.
