Tricorona's projects in the Sichuan province in China

The earthquake that struck the Sichuan province in China on Monday has had serious consequences for the province. Tricorona has over 10 CDM project in Sichuan, most of which are small scale hydropower projects, that are feared to may have been affected. The projects correspond to about 8 million emission reductions up until 2012.

There is still no information on the status of the individual projects or the extent of the indirect damages that might come to affect the delivery of emission reductions from these projects. Tricorona is using all means available to obtain information about how the projects, as well as business partners and consultants, in the Sichuan province have been affected by the earthquake. There is still no detailed information as means of communication and transportation to the province are largely destroyed. None of Tricorona’s employees have been immediately affected.
