![]() ![]() 2008-12-04 Effects of temporary suspension of DNVOn 28 November, the UN's Clean Development Mechanism Executive Board decided to suspend with immediate effect the Norwegian classification society Det Norske Veritas's (DNV) accreditation for validation and verification of CDM projects. DNV is one of several independent DOEs (Designated Operational Entities) that Tricorona uses in its CDM projects. DNV's temporary suspension will not have any effect on this year's deliveries of CERs and is judged to have only a marginal effect on deliveries in 2009. DNV has announced that they expect to regain their full accreditation within 1–2 months. "The UN's decision came as a surprise. For some of our projects it may mean some delay in the application process depending on how long it takes for DNV to regain its accreditation. But we have taken steps to minimize the effects of the UN's decision," says Tricorona's CEO Niels von Zweigbergk.
