![]() ![]() 2008-12-08 Tricorona launches “Climate Neutral by Tricorona†certification programSwedish Association of Green Motorists to be first organisation certified as Climate Neutral by Tricorona. Tricorona announced today the launch of a certification program for companies and organisations aiming to become climate neutral. The program is based on emissions reductions within the organisation in conjunction with carbon offsets from Tricorona UN-certified projects within renewable energy, under the CDM framework of the Kyoto Protocol. “We have over the years helped many companies address their climate impact, through a combination of reduction measures and offsetting from our high quality CDM projects,” says Per Egstam, CEO at Tricorona Climate Partner. “We can now offer a certification program to recognise the efforts of the organisations that have come furthest with their climate work, and to highlight them as good example.” The first organisation to receive the certification is the non-profit organisation Swedish Association of Green Motorists (Gröna Bilister). The organisation has offset its full climate impact and is certified as Climate Neutral by Tricorona from 2008. “Our vision is to reduce the climate impact from motoring, and we want to serve as good example. Tricorona’s model makes it easy for us to monitor and reduce our emissions, and then offset those that remain,” says Jakob Lagercrantz, chairman at Grona Bilister.
