  2009-09-17 Tricorona's largest project to date registered with UNTricorona’s largest project to date, the Zhumadian Zhongyuan Gas-Steam Combined Cycle Power Project in Henan, China was registered yesterday with the CDM Executive Board. The project is able to generate 860,000 emission reductions (CERs) per year The project relates to a natural gas combined cycle project in Henan province, China with a estimated annual output of 2,500 GWh of power. The first delivery of CERs from the project is estimated during 2010. By adopting advanced clean and efficient power technology using natural gas (Natural Gas fired Combined-Cycle), the project will offer both environmental and economic benefits to the region. The project will improve the electricity generation mix of the Central China Power Grid and enhance the capacity of the peak load dispatching and electricity supply reliability for the grid. By offering clean electricity with natural gas as low carbon content fuel, the project can mitigate the air pollution and CO2 emissions caused by the coal-fired power plants and improve the quality of the atmosphere.
