Tricorona Signs Cooperation agreement with the Australian technology provider Enerji Ltd.

Tricorona has entered into a cooperation agreement with Enerji Ltd from Australia, a technology and service provider of waste heat recovery projects to the fossil fuel power industry in Australia, South East Asia and Africa. The value from the emission reductions achieved by Enerji’s applications will be managed by Tricorona.

In South East Asia and Africa the cooperation is expected to lead to projects within the Kyoto Protocol and the Clean Development Mechanism.  Enerji will provide the service and technology for the emission reducing project and Tricorona buys and manages the carbon credits generated from the project.

In Australia the cooperation is based on Tricorona applying its particular expertise in emission reduction projects on Enerji’s applications which includes

  • Calculating the emission reduction and estimate the “Carbon value" for customers of implementing Enerji’s services by describing the alternative cost for future emission allowances in Australia Emission Trading Scheme;
  • An overall description how Enerji’s customers can comply with the Australian ETS in the most efficient way, including the possibility to use Certified Emission Reductions (CER) from Clean Development Mechanism projects for compliance.

“Our agreement with Tricorona will add further value to Enerji’s customers,” said Enerji’s CEO Ross Smith.  “Tricorona has an extensive network and with its knowledge of upcoming energy projects in our markets, they will be a good partner for Enerji both in finding customers and assisting to secure financing. The potential use of carbon credits and optimizing compliance with the ETS will provide a financial bonus for our customers and significantly enhance the value of our combined services.”

“Enerji’s application has good potential to reduce emission of greenhouse gases in the fossil fuel power industry. By adding the carbon component to the project in South East Asia and Africa we expect to increase the overall financial attractiveness of their implementations. Through our cooperation Tricorona also hopes to expand its customer base into Australia’s Emission Trading Scheme, which is expected to be launched in mid 2011”, says Marco Berggren, Head of Tech Transfer at Tricorona
